Configuration Management Analyst
Requirements
Our client located in Jacksonville, FL is in need of a Configuration Management Analyst for a 3 month contract assignment.
Provides configuration management (CM) support for software baseline control efforts. Responsibilities include administering the source code control system; and performing code builds, packaging, and deployment to development, QA, staging, and production environments in addition to rollout release planning and execution of release management tasks. Will be expected to drive implementation of an automated build and deployment process utilizing TFS 2008
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborates with engineers and developers to build, package, and deploy all internal/external system components
* Create and maintain tools for on-demand and automated builds and for deployment of builds across multiple environments
* Build an accessible library of easily accessible build artifacts for quick deployment and testing
* Perform multiple daily builds for multiple software releases
* Assist with diagnosing and debugging installation and configuration failures
* Administration of source code control repository, e.g. controlling access and creating branches
* Manage applications deployments to multiple QA environments in an effective and efficient manner
* Responsible for continued development and implementation of the continuous build system and integrate compatibility with the automated test suite
* Recommends additions or updates to the CM processes and procedures.
* Defines and implements procedures for releasing products throughout the whole product life cycle.
* May serve on the Configuration Control Board (CCB).
* Identifies and implements processes to strengthen, streamline and automate build processes;
* Serves as an advocate for best practices; drives the development and maintenance of build automation tools;
* Performs software deficiency and change request updates and reporting. Maintains the project notebook library and software development folders.
* Tracks and maintains the project change requests, impact assessments, incident reports, and software change notices on a continuous basis.
* Measures and reports on success metrics benchmarking performance against world class measures.
* Supports management with technical performance data from the CM process.

Skills and Qualifications
* 4-year degree in a technical discipline. CS degree a significant plus, MS a plus
* Requires 4+ years SCM/Build/Release Engineering experience as part of an Internet based business or for some other web development organization
* Requires 4+ years experience in build/release engineering. Must have worked on a product that was released for public consumption. Experience with short release cycles is a plus
* Knowledge of administering all versions of Windows OS
* General understanding of ASP, ASP.NET, C#, COM, HTML, XML, IIS, MS SQL Server 2005/2008.
* Detailed hands on experience implementing automating build and deployment processes
* Experience with tools such as Visual Studio 2005/2008, MSI Installers, TFS 2008/2010, MSBuild, WiX
* General understanding of database versioning and deployment, specifically Microsoft SQL
* Familiar with software lifecycle methodology and software engineering techniques as they relate to the Build and Release Engineer role
* Systems/Unit Testing and test driven development (TDD)
* Familiarity with leading Agile practices such as Scrum
Skills Summary:

* Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends in support of deployments
Required
* 5+ years in Release Engineering role
- Experience with building and Deploying .Net based applications
- Experience with isolating build/deployment issues versus code issues.
- Source Code branching and merging strategy.
* 5+ years source control tool experience (e.g. TFS including 2008, MSBuild)
* 5+ years build automation experience (e.g. MSBuild, Wix)
* 4+ years SQL Server (2000/2005/2008) experience
* Bug Tracking systems (e.g. HP-QC) desired
